The Battle for Middle-earth II: The Rise of the Witch-king

Description

The Rise of the Witch-king is the expansion pack of The Battle for Middle-earth II, developed by EA Los Angeles with BreakAway Games and published by Electronic Arts for PC on November 28, 2006.

Its campaign goes back more than a thousand years before the War of the Ring, to the history told in the Appendices of The Lord of the Rings. The Witch-king founds the realm of Angmar in the far north and takes advantage of the division of Arnor to conquer Rhudaur, Cardolan and Arthedain one after the other, up to the siege of Fornost. In a last mission the player changes sides and leads the Elves of Glorfindel and the Men of Gondor under Eärnur against Carn Dûm, the capital of Angmar.

The expansion adds Angmar as a seventh playable faction, new units and heroes for every faction, new maps and an expanded War of the Ring mode.

Synopsis

Long before the War of the Ring, the Witch-king raises the realm of Angmar and sets out to destroy the divided kingdom of Arnor.
