MIDDLE-EARTH TIMELINE
Tolkien wrote poetry all his life, and this three volume set by Christina Scull and Wayne G. Hammond is the first to bring it together. It gathers nearly two hundred poems, around seventy of them never published before, from his early verse to his last years, many in several versions.
The poems range from comic rhymes and verse for children to Old English style alliterative verse, and include early pieces linked to his legendarium. Each poem comes with notes on its history and meaning. HarperCollins published the set in 2024.
