MIDDLE-EARTH TIMELINE
The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age (2004) is a turn-based role-playing game developed by EA Redwood Shores and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube. A different game, a turn-based tactics version, was made by Griptonite Games for the Game Boy Advance.
It is a loose adaptation of Peter Jackson's films. Instead of the Fellowship, players follow Berethor, a soldier of Gondor, and a party of original companions on a journey that runs parallel to Frodo's. Their path crosses the great moments of the trilogy, from the Mines of Moria to Helm's Deep and the Pelennor Fields, and Gandalf introduces clips from the films along the way. Combat is inspired by Final Fantasy X, and an Evil Mode lets players replay battles on Sauron's side.
Berethor of Gondor and his companions follow in the footsteps of the Fellowship and fight alongside them in the great battles of the War of the Ring.
