MIDDLE-EARTH TIMELINE

Elvish Linguistic Fellowship

Elvish Linguistic Fellowship

Description

The Elvish Linguistic Fellowship is the group of scholars that edits and publishes Tolkien's unpublished writings on his invented languages. Founded in 1988 by Jorge Quiñónez within the Mythopoeic Society and led by Carl F. Hostetter, it was entrusted by Christopher Tolkien in 1992 with the linguistic papers left out of The History of Middle-earth.

These come out in two print journals: Parma Eldalamberon, which publishes the manuscripts in full, and Vinyar Tengwar, with fifty issues since 1988. Tengwestië is its online journal. The website is a hub rather than a database and the journals are sold on paper, but anyone serious about Quenya or Sindarin ends up reading them.
