MIDDLE-EARTH TIMELINE
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth (2004) is a real-time strategy game developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts for Windows. It is based on Peter Jackson's film trilogy and uses clips from the movies, Howard Shore's music and several of the films' voice actors.
Four factions wage the War of the Ring: Rohan and Gondor for the Free Peoples, Isengard and Mordor for the forces of darkness. Players build bases on predefined plots, raise armies and lead heroes such as Gandalf, Aragorn or the Witch-king. The Good campaign follows the great battles of the films, including Helm's Deep, Isengard, Osgiliath and the Pelennor Fields, while the Evil campaign imagines what would have happened if Sauron and Saruman had won.
Command the armies of Rohan, Gondor, Isengard or Mordor and fight the great battles of the War of the Ring in this real-time strategy game based on the films.
