MIDDLE-EARTH TIMELINE
The Tolkien Professor is the podcast of Dr. Corey Olsen, a former English professor at Washington College and the author of Exploring J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit (2012). It began in 2009 with a lecture on how to read Tolkien and why, and grew into hundreds of lectures, seminars and live discussions, including long Silmarillion seminars and the SilmFilm project, which imagines a television adaptation of The Silmarillion season by season.
Olsen also founded the Mythgard Institute and Signum University, an online school with a Tolkien Studies program, whose free Mythgard Academy sessions are open to everyone. A good place to start if you like a teacher's close reading of the texts.
Corey Olsen's lectures and seminars on Tolkien, from The Hobbit to The Silmarillion, in one of the oldest Tolkien podcasts.
