An A to Z guide to the life, thought and writings of J.R.R. Tolkien by Colin Duriez, a British writer known for his books on Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and the Inklings. It has a foreword by Brian Sibley.

Its entries cover the people, places and themes of Middle-earth as well as Tolkien's life, friends and ideas. It was published in 1992 by Monarch in the UK and by Angus and Robertson in Australia, and in the United States as The J.R.R. Tolkien Handbook. Duriez later reworked it as Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings, published in 2001.
